The controversial Alaskan pipeline used to carry oil from Prudhoe Bay winds it's way from the northern tip of Alaska, over the tundra, through the Brooks range, ending at the southern town of Valdez. Alaska's oil reserves are some of the most important in the United States. Caribou graze near the pipe.
